Rose Park Dawn Patrol
Rose pArk Golf Course
Dog Days Call for Dawn Patrol
If there’s one thing that skiing and golf have in common it’s the dawn patrol crowd. Get up, get out, and get some “fun” in before work. Rose Park Golf Course in Salt Lake City stays consistently busy throughout the summer. Whether it’s golfeurs trying to beat the heat or the blue collar crowd squeezing in a round before work, you better be on top of booking a tee time. Located on the northern end of Salt Lake’s city limits, Rose Park is most famously known for being the stomping ground of local pro Tony Finau. If it’s good enough to be a training ground for young Tony, you better believe it’s good enough for you.
Even though it may be surrounded by the Utah mountains, Rose Park is a fairly flat course with fairways winding back and forth along each other. Keep your head on a swivel for some hefty hooks heading your way. Where some may find the fairly simple course design boring, others see it as a perfect place to take some chances playing proper Hero golf. Take hole 4 for example, it’s a swooping left handed dog leg, lines with trees on the left. Sure you could lay up to the middle of the bend leaving you 150 to the pin, orrrrrr you could whip out the ole driver, gap the trees, and leave your self a close chip/putt for a birdie. I mean you’re out there to try and break Tony’s course record aren’t you??
Enjoy some photos & a fox from an early morning round on the front 9. More photos of the full course to come.
